Position Overview
The Foundry Vancouver Granville clinic is currently seeking skilled Nurse Practitioners to join our dedicated team. This clinic, part of Providence Health Care, specializes in providing comprehensive health services, including physical and sexual health, mental health support, substance use treatment, peer assistance, and social services to youth aged 12 to 24.
Role Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the clinic Director, the Nurse Practitioner will deliver episodic, specialized, and continuous care. The collaborative environment includes a diverse team of healthcare professionals such as physicians, registered nurses, social workers, counselors, and administrative staff. Nurse Practitioners at our clinic also benefit from collaborative care consultations with on-site psychiatrists.
The role involves working closely with patients and other healthcare professionals to identify health trends and develop evidence-based strategies aimed at improving overall health outcomes. Additionally, participation in policy-making activities that shape health services and practices is expected. The Nurse Practitioner will engage in peer and self-review processes to assess the effectiveness of care provided.
Qualifications and Skills
Candidates must possess a current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals, along with relevant clinical nursing experience. Successful completion of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) and Basic Cardiac Life Support Course, Level C, is required. Eligibility for appointment to the Providence Health Care Department of Nurse Practitioners is also necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Nurse Practitioner will diagnose and manage undiagnosed patients with various health conditions, prescribe medications, and provide emergency care as necessary. Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring patient care and ordering diagnostic tests.
- Establishing health management priorities and communicating effectively with patients and families.
- Collaborating with healthcare teams to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Participating in research and quality improvement initiatives.
- Engaging in the education of nurse practitioner students and other healthcare professionals.
Vaccination Requirement
In accordance with current Public Health Orders, all employees at Providence Health Care must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Proof of vaccination status will be required.
