Job Title: Education Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Education Assistant to join our team at Aitchison College of Technology & Health Sciences Inc.

Job Summary:

The Education Assistant will provide support to students, teachers, and staff in a dynamic and fast-paced educational environment. This is a permanent position with 40 hours of work per week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accompany students during school and extracurricular activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Assist students individually or in small groups with assignments and reinforce learning concepts under the supervision of classroom teachers.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the school principal, such as monitoring students during recess and lunch hour, and assisting with classroom inventory.
  • Supervise students during school and extracurricular activities, and monitor student progress to report to classroom teachers.
  • Assist students with special needs using techniques such as sign language, braille, and remedial programs.
  • Participate in government or community programs that support newcomers and refugees, youth employment, and Indigenous people.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to work in an urban area and communicate effectively with students, teachers, and staff.
