Job Summary

Alacrity Transport Ltd. is seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team for long haul transportation. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials across the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel Arrangements: Arrange travel itineraries and make reservations for transportation.
  • Teamwork: Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, ensuring safe and efficient transportation.
  • Loading and Unloading: Load and unload goods, adhering to safety protocols and company procedures.
  • Vehicle Operation: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, overseeing the condition of the vehicle and inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  • Emergency Response: Perform emergency roadside repairs and ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Inspections: Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, overseeing all aspects of the vehicle.
  • Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, ensuring seamless communication.
  • Record Keeping: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, maintaining accurate records.
Requirements
  • Training: Willingness to train and develop skills for long haul transportation.
  • Employment Type: Permanent position.
  • Language: English language proficiency.
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
