About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diagnostic Imaging Sonographer to join our team at Markham Stouffville Hospital. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound examinations and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform ultrasound examinations in various specialties, including general abdomen, obstetrics, vascular, and musculoskeletal
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited Canadian ultrasound program or equivalent
  • Current membership and good standing with CMRITO
  • Sonography Canada credentialed (PLI professional liability insurance) or ARDMS certification
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in diagnostic imaging, preferably in a teaching hospital setting
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
