Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive financial analyses to inform business decisions, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance assessments.
  • Create and sustain financial models to assess business performance and aid in strategic planning.
  • Compile and deliver precise, timely, and insightful financial reports to upper management.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements along with management reports.
  • Support the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department leaders to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Track and revise financial forecasts, identifying significant trends and discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with various departments to comprehend their financial requirements and offer guidance on financial issues.
  • Engage in strategic projects and initiatives, contributing financial insights and recommendations during monthly project meetings.
  • Identify potential risks and advise management on mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as a financial advisor to operational managers, assisting them in understanding the financial implications of their decisions.
  • Review joint venture financial reports and Estimate At Completion reports for projects.
  • Ensure adherence to financial and operational policies, procedures, and compliance regulations.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, and other business development activities through financial due diligence and integration planning.
  • Maintain robust internal controls and assist with audit processes as necessary.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field is preferred.
  • CFA or CPA designation is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is essential.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and analytical skills, especially in complex and challenging situations.
  • Ability to produce managerial and financial reports for senior management, interpreting complex financial data and providing actionable insights.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of advanced Excel and financial modeling techniques.
  • Familiarity with current accounting laws and regulations in Ontario.
  • Experience in BI reporting within a project-based company is advantageous.
