Position Overview
The Enterprise Risk Management Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting the Enterprise Risk Management framework by identifying, managing, reporting, and monitoring potential risks faced by the organization. This role involves conducting risk evaluations, internal assessments, and overseeing specific risk management functions, such as third-party risk management. The specialist will collaborate with various business units to assess and mitigate risks while driving process enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Management
- Conduct ongoing risk identification and assessment activities related to changes in products, services, and projects.
- Evaluate risk incidents to determine their categorization, significance, and appropriate mitigation strategies, while identifying opportunities for process and control improvements.
- Collaborate with business partners to assess and mitigate risks, implementing necessary process and control enhancements, and validating the effectiveness of risk mitigation efforts.
- Oversee the risk management infrastructure, including maintaining risk categories, risk registers, and issue tracking systems.
Reporting
- Gather, transform, analyze, and report data from diverse sources, including financial performance, cybersecurity metrics, and operational activities.
- Develop and refine risk and performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Identify and communicate areas requiring attention and enhancement.
Internal Reviews
- Conduct reviews of specific operational areas to ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory standards, and industry best practices, focusing on enhancing processes and controls.
- Present findings, insights, and actionable recommendations for improvement, including supporting remediation efforts and validating their success.
Additional Responsibilities
- Manage the third-party risk management process, including maintaining an entity and contract register, conducting due diligence, and performing annual risk assessments.
- Assist in managing risks associated with the investment process, including adherence to investment philosophies and environmental, social, and governance commitments.
- Support the development of policies, guidelines, and awareness materials related to risk management.
- Contribute to enterprise processes such as business continuity planning and incident response initiatives.
Qualifications
- Experience in risk management, internal auditing, compliance, consulting, finance, or a related field.
- Strong ability to engage with, negotiate, and influence stakeholders across the organization.
- Excellent analytical skills for evaluating multiple information sources and performing quantitative tasks.
- Proficient presentation and reporting capabilities.
- Ability to distill complex information into clear, actionable insights.
- Strong ethical standards and diligence in handling sensitive information.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional time management and prioritization abilities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated team player with a positive outlook.
- Completion of finance or securities-related coursework is preferred.
This position is part of the Legal & Compliance team.
