Qualifications

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan travel routes, manage itineraries, and handle reservations efficiently.
  • Collaborate with a partner or operate in a convoy to ensure safe transportation.
  • Load and unload cargo, ensuring all goods are handled with care.
  • Acquire necessary permits and documentation for international cargo transport.
  • Drive and operate both straight and articulated trucks for transporting goods.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of the vehicle, including tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage equipment.
  • Manage financial transactions related to goods, including payments.
  • Perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs as needed.
  • Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle integrity.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance to ensure vehicle reliability.
  • Communicate effectively with central dispatch regarding travel updates.
  • Document cargo details, service hours, distance traveled, and fuel usage.
  • Ensure safety and security of cargo through proper tarping techniques.
  • Handle and transport hazardous materials in compliance with regulations.
Licenses and Certifications
  • AZ class license is mandatory.
  • Air Brakes Endorsement is required.
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A) is essential.
Travel and Work Conditions
  • Possession of a valid driver's license is necessary.
  • This position involves extensive travel on the road.
