The Risk Management Supervisor plays a pivotal role in enhancing ICMA-RC's risk management framework by collaborating with business leaders to identify potential risks, formulating effective mitigation strategies, and overseeing the validation and testing of internal controls associated with these strategies.

Key Responsibilities for this position include:

  1. Foster collaborative relationships and communicate effectively across various business units and management levels to cultivate a risk-aware culture aligned with Enterprise Risk Management objectives.
  2. Lead comprehensive risk assessment initiatives within the organization, including risk identification with key stakeholders, facilitating risk assessment discussions, and producing detailed risk reports.
  3. Guide and mentor a team of professionals in risk management and fraud prevention, creating opportunities for professional growth and engagement in various risk management projects.
  4. Oversee the regular validation and testing of internal controls pertinent to ICMA-RC's attestation reports.
  5. Assist in crafting test plans for internal controls related to risk mitigation efforts.
  6. Ensure the periodic evaluation and testing of internal controls implemented to address identified risks across the organization, ensuring alignment with corporate risk appetite.
  7. Stay informed on industry best practices in risk management and fraud prevention, providing recommendations for continuous enhancement of the risk management and fraud prevention programs.
  8. Collaborate with a team of professionals throughout all phases of fraud prevention and investigation, ensuring adherence to high standards of quality, thoroughness, and objectivity.
  9. Support senior management in compiling necessary data and drafting risk-related reports for executive leadership.
  10. Assist with or manage additional projects as required.

Qualifications we seek:

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in risk management, including conducting risk assessments, tracking and reporting risks, evaluating controls, and investigating fraud.
  3. Experience in the financial services sector is advantageous.
  4. Strong understanding of risk management principles.
  5. Proven experience in process ownership and development of metrics.
  6. Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.
  7. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Demonstrated ability to build effective partnerships across all levels of the organization.
  9. Strong presence with the capability to influence and drive change.
  10. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  11. Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively.
  12. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
