Job Opportunity: Anesthesiologist

Alberta Health Services, Central Zone, and the Department of Anesthesia at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, invites applications for an Anesthesiologist to establish a full-time practice in the community of Red Deer.

About the Role

The successful candidate will provide anesthesia services for both elective and trauma surgical procedures, as well as obstetrical and call coverage. Mentorship will be provided, and there is a program in place to ensure the on-call Anesthesiologist is supported.

Responsibilities
  • Reside in and have their primary residence within the community of Red Deer
  • Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services
  • Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules, and AHS policies
  • Provide call assistance as per call schedules, including full-time participation in the Anesthesia call schedule, as required
  • Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Zone Clinical Department of Anesthesia
  • Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs
  • Contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities, as assigned
  • Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care

Requirements
  • Be eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta
  • Have completed, or be currently enrolled in an Anesthesiology residency program (in Canada preferred)

  • Certified or eligible for Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certificate
