Position Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) will be an integral part of the Private Funds Finance team within the Private Equity division. This role is highly visible and provides a solid foundation for a rewarding and dynamic career. The SFA will engage in various aspects of financial reporting, performance analysis, valuations, capital management, and investor relations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in the preparation and review of Private Fund and Limited Partner reporting, including standalone legal entity trial balances, consolidated financial statements under US GAAP, and investor capital statements on a quarterly and annual basis.
  2. Support the preparation of capital call and distribution notifications for investors.
  3. Contribute to the publicly traded company's consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS related to Private Fund entities.
  4. Conduct detailed analyses of Fund performance metrics, including gross/net IRR, management fees, and carried interest.
  5. Lead the resolution of complex technical accounting issues, coordinating with auditors, fund administrators, and operational platforms.
  6. Assist in managing fund operations, including compliance, controls, and treasury management, by collaborating with other functional teams.
  7. Prepare various analyses and reports for senior management to facilitate informed business decisions.
  8. Support Brookfield's valuation process through comprehensive reviews of valuation models and long-term assumptions on a quarterly basis.
  9. Address investor inquiries related to fund financial matters and reporting.
  10. Provide mentorship and guidance to the fund administration team and co-op students.
  11. Conduct ad-hoc analyses and special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
  1. 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting or auditing.
  2. A recognized professional accounting designation (CPA, CA).
  3. Proficient in financial systems, with advanced Excel capabilities.
  4. Demonstrated leadership skills and a collaborative team player.
  5. Able to thrive in a dynamic, complex, and fast-paced environment, adapting quickly to changing priorities and deadlines.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  8. Exceptional organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  9. Self-motivated, resourceful, and proactive in managing workload and professional growth.
  10. Experience in the following areas is advantageous (but not mandatory):
  • Private Investment Funds.
  • US GAAP Investment Company accounting.
  • Calculations of carried interest/performance fees.
  • Complex legal structures.
