Position OverviewThe Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) will be an integral part of the Private Funds Finance team within the Private Equity division. This role is highly visible and provides a solid foundation for a rewarding and dynamic career. The SFA will engage in various aspects of financial reporting, performance analysis, valuations, capital management, and investor relations.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the preparation and review of Private Fund and Limited Partner reporting, including standalone legal entity trial balances, consolidated financial statements under US GAAP, and investor capital statements on a quarterly and annual basis.
- Support the preparation of capital call and distribution notifications for investors.
- Contribute to the publicly traded company's consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS related to Private Fund entities.
- Conduct detailed analyses of Fund performance metrics, including gross/net IRR, management fees, and carried interest.
- Lead the resolution of complex technical accounting issues, coordinating with auditors, fund administrators, and operational platforms.
- Assist in managing fund operations, including compliance, controls, and treasury management, by collaborating with other functional teams.
- Prepare various analyses and reports for senior management to facilitate informed business decisions.
- Support Brookfield's valuation process through comprehensive reviews of valuation models and long-term assumptions on a quarterly basis.
- Address investor inquiries related to fund financial matters and reporting.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to the fund administration team and co-op students.
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses and special projects as needed.
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting or auditing.
- A recognized professional accounting designation (CPA, CA).
- Proficient in financial systems, with advanced Excel capabilities.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and a collaborative team player.
- Able to thrive in a dynamic, complex, and fast-paced environment, adapting quickly to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

- Experience in the following areas is advantageous (but not mandatory):
- Private Investment Funds.
- US GAAP Investment Company accounting.
- Calculations of carried interest/performance fees.
- Complex legal structures.
