Job Title: Purchasing Specialist - Manufacturing and Processing

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to join our team at MTU Maintenance Canada Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for purchasing general and specialized equipment, materials, and business services to support our manufacturing and processing operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Purchase equipment, materials, and services from suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop specifications for equipment, materials, and supplies to be purchased, working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Consult with suppliers to negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and contract terms.
  • Review quotations and make recommendations for awarding contracts.
  • Monitor progress of delivery schedules and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal stakeholders, responding to their purchasing needs in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements:
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of SAP (FI/CO/HR/MM/OT SD) is an asset.
