Preschool Cleaner Job Description

At Port Elgin Montessori Preschool, we are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Preschool Cleaner to join our team. As a key member of our cleaning staff, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our children and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary environment throughout the preschool premises.
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces, fixtures, and equipment to prevent the spread of germs and illnesses.
  • Empty trash bins and dispose of waste properly to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Stock and replenish cleaning supplies and restroom essentials as needed.
  • Perform laundry duties, including washing, drying, folding, and putting away laundry items.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining storage areas for cleaning supplies, toys, and educational materials.
  • Report any maintenance issues or repairs needed within the preschool facility promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with preschool staff regarding cleaning schedules, any issues or concerns, and any special cleaning requests.
Requirements:
  • Previous cleaning experience at a childcare center.
  • Negative Criminal Reference Vulnerable sector check (Canadian).
  • Valid First Aid CPR certificate.
