Position Summary:
- The ideal candidate will adhere to performance standards as established by the College of Nurses and the policies of Trillium Health Partners.
- Compliance with the standards set forth by the Operating Room Nurses Association of Canada (ORNAC) is essential.
- Active participation in the surgical operating room team is expected.
Qualifications:
- Must be registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) or meet eligibility criteria for registration.
- Demonstrated clinical proficiency in nursing practice is required.
- Experience in a Cardiac Operating Room is mandatory; a minimum of 2 years is preferred.
- Completion of a recognized Operating Room Certificate course from an accredited institution is necessary.
- Certification in approved medical acts and additional nursing skills is required.
- Completion of the CAN Certification in Perioperative Nursing is considered an asset.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and CPR certification is essential.
- Must be a reliable and adaptable team player.
- Ability to think critically and prioritize effectively in emergency situations is crucial.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills, along with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, are necessary.
- Capability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team is essential.
- A positive attendance and work history is critical.
