Job Description:

Job Title: Foreman/Forewoman

Job Summary:

Golderado Contracting Corp is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Foreman/Forewoman to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient execution of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, and sub-contractors to promote a culture of safety and excellence.
  • Develop and implement safety plans to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of heavy equipment operators, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead and participate in weekly safety meetings and toolbox talks to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Investigate and report incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Supervise and coach workers to improve productivity and safety performance.
  • Operate heavy equipment, perform routine maintenance, and ensure that all equipment is in good working condition.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, secure special attachments, and perform minor repairs.
  • Ensure that all quality documents are signed off and that all work is completed to the required standards.
  • Coordinate with survey crews and interpret grade stakes to ensure accurate site layout.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy equipment operation and supervision.
  • A heavy equipment operator certificate and a valid driver's license with an insurable driver's abstract.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role or equivalent.
  • A CSTS-09 or 2020 certification and a valid SCOT certification.
  • Leadership for Safety Excellence (LSE) proficiency level certification.
  • Proficient English language skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
