About the Team
The Global Cash Management Engineering team is committed to designing, developing, and enhancing scalable technology solutions for Commercial Clients within Scotiabank's International Banking operations.
Position Overview
The Chief Architect (Director) will oversee Software Architecture, Data Architecture, and Solution Architecture for technology solutions in Global Cash Management Engineering. This role requires collaboration with senior executives and stakeholders to evaluate existing capabilities, identify growth opportunities, and conceptualize future capabilities and technology solutions. Additionally, the Chief Architect will co-lead critical initiatives to ensure alignment with the enterprise's strategic vision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulating vision, strategy, and key focus areas for transformation in partnership with senior leadership and business stakeholders
- Leading comprehensive technology initiatives from conception through to execution
- Collaborating closely with technology teams to create robust business cases and implementation strategies
- Reporting progress and soliciting feedback from senior leadership on technology initiatives
- Guiding and mentoring a high-performing team
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience and profound knowledge in software engineering, IT & digital strategy, enterprise architecture, and complex technology delivery
- 7+ years of experience in Software Engineering Leadership, Software Architecture, or Data Architecture
- 3+ years of experience in Architecture leadership roles
- Familiarity with contemporary technologies such as cloud platforms, microservices, mobile and web architectures, DevSecOps, and modern data platforms
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, and self-drive
- Strong planning, analytical, and relationship management capabilities
- Bachelor's degree in engineering; a graduate degree is advantageous
