Job Description

Cogent Environmental Solutions Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Project Manager to join our team in Calgary. As a key member of our environmental consulting team, you will be responsible for managing environmental projects from start to finish, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and delivering high-quality results to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage environmental projects, including Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments, remediation, and reclamation work
  • Develop and implement environmental management plans, ensuring compliance with Alberta Regulatory frameworks
  • Collaborate with technical professionals to complete environmental reporting and assessments
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to clients on environmental matters
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory changes
Requirements:
  • University degree or technical diploma in environmental studies, engineering, agrology, geology, or a related technical field
  • Minimum 3 years of environmental consulting experience in Western Canada, with significant office and field work experience in Alberta
  • Knowledge of the Alberta Regulatory framework for remediation and reclamation work
  • Experience with assembling and writing Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Well-developed computer skills using standard office software, including experience with oil and gas/environmental software
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current professional/technical designation or the ability to obtain a designation in Alberta
  • Experience working with clients in the oil and gas industry
