Role Summary: The Head of Fraud Prevention Technology is tasked with the strategic oversight, implementation, and management of technological solutions that protect the bank's operations from fraud, anti-money laundering (AML), and digital threats. This position supervises the technology that underpins fraud detection and prevention, AML processes, collections, and the digital risk engine (DRE), ensuring these systems are efficient, effective, and in harmony with the bank's comprehensive risk management framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the design and deployment of advanced technological solutions:
    • Ensure the execution of scalable, enterprise-grade technology and tools to facilitate fraud detection, AML, collections, digital risk management, and Open Banking.
    • Confirm that systems are in alignment with the bank's overarching risk management strategy and regulatory standards.
  2. Engage with business units and leadership:
    • Collaborate closely with pertinent stakeholders to pinpoint and address technological requirements and interdependencies.
    • Steer the execution of strategic plans and roadmaps for loss prevention technologies, ensuring they align with business goals and regulatory mandates.
  3. Encourage innovation and operational efficiency:
    • Promote the creation and adoption of innovative solutions for fraud detection, AML, collections, and digital risk management.
    • Instill a culture of continuous improvement, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in loss prevention operations.
  4. Foster a high-performance environment:
    • Build an inclusive and high-performing engineering culture, attracting, retaining, and inspiring top talent.
    • Implement a people strategy that resonates with the bank's values and business objectives.
  5. Ensure compliance and alignment with regulations:
    • Translate intricate compliance and regulatory requirements into practical and cost-effective technological solutions.
    • Maintain current knowledge of relevant regulations and ensure adherence.

Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of experience in a leadership capacity managing large-scale, complex enterprise technology projects.
  • Deep expertise in software development and design principles for highly scalable technology infrastructures.
  • Proficient knowledge of modern agile methodologies and a variety of contemporary technologies.
  • Ability to adapt to new and evolving environments.
  • Strong leadership and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Extensive experience with automation, deployment, and testing practices at scale.
  • Proven ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
