Job Summary

The Croix-Rouge is seeking a skilled Medical Equipment Technician to join our team in British Columbia. As a Medical Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for the delivery, inspection, repair, and maintenance of medical equipment and accessories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and disinfect medical equipment according to established standards.
  • Inspect equipment, correct any defects, and repair equipment according to manufacturer's instructions.
  • Document repairs and update inventory records in the management system.
  • Deliver equipment from one HELP warehouse to another.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and post-secondary education in a relevant field.
  • At least two years of experience working with basic manual and electrical tools, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to lift and transport loads up to 35 kg (80 lbs).
  • Manifest mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot technical issues (experience in medical equipment repair is an asset).
  • Excellent oral communication and customer service skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Completed a first aid or CPR course within the past two years, or willing to complete one during the probationary period.
  • Experience working with volunteers and diverse populations.

Working Conditions

  • Typical work schedule consists of 7-hour shifts, Monday to Friday.
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods, up to 75% of the workday.
