Job Summary

As a Corporate Banking Analyst at Royal Bank of Canada, you will play a key role in supporting the structuring, syndication, and management of bank debt for a targeted customer base in the energy sector. You will work closely with RBC Capital Markets partners to deliver trusted advice to clients and help them thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of internal credit submissions, including company, industry, and financial analysis and modeling.
  • Work in a team environment with RBC Capital Markets partners to deliver high-quality results.
  • Assist with internal credit administration, including monitoring the team's loan portfolio performance and market/industry conditions.
  • Create, maintain, and update pitch decks, internal presentation materials, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Assist with Corporate Banking coverage for identified clients.
Requirements
  • Strong academic credentials, including a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or Engineering.
  • Enrollment in the CFA program or other relevant professional designation is an asset.
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience in corporate lending/corporate finance is an asset but not required.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with keen attention to detail and strong interest in corporate lending and the energy sector.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure, meet time-sensitive deadlines, adapt to changing circumstances, prioritize work, and multitask responsibilities.
  • Advanced financial modeling abilities, as well as superior written and presentation skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg Portal is an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to critically assess financial statements and other client reports to draw reasonable conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain relationships at all levels within and outside the organization.
