Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will provide technical guidance, training, and coaching to maintenance staff, install, maintain, troubleshoot, and operate manufacturing and processing equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical principles, PLCs, pneumatics, and hydraulic systems, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership
    • Identify training requirements and develop training matrices
    • Conduct training and coaching sessions for maintenance staff
    • Coordinate with the Technical Supervisor to assign technical resources and establish priorities
  • Machinery and Equipment Maintenance
    • Perform repairs on production-filling equipment, packaging equipment, compounding equipment, and material handling equipment
    • Have a good working knowledge of compressors, boilers, and sprinkler systems
    • Interface with all packaging, process, and support equipment within the site
  • Equipment Set-up and Operability
    • Perform and assist line technicians with set-ups and equipment changeovers
    • Troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems, drive-mechanisms, and electrical systems
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Lead and participate in facility and corporate Lean Manufacturing initiatives
    • Support the Site PM/CMMS program and participate in Factory Acceptance Tests
  • Health, Safety, and Quality
    • Proactively identify and report safety concerns
    • Observe and conform to all corporate EH&S and GMP/OTC guidelines and procedures
  • Housekeeping
    • Maintain a clean work environment on the production floor and within the maintenance shop

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school education; post-secondary education and/or trade school training an asset
  • 3-5 years of experience in maintenance or a related field
  • Millwright or electrician certification an asset
