JOB TITLE: Agricultural Sales Specialist

POSITION TYPE: Permanent – Full Time

REPORTING TO: Branch Sales Manager

The Canadian agriculture sector is on the rise, and you can be part of this growth with Rocky Mountain Equipment (RME). RME operates 45 branches dedicated to construction and agricultural machinery across the regions of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. Our principle of doing Right by You enables us to deliver a consistent, dependable, and secure experience to all our clients while fostering enduring relationships with the broader community.

As an Agricultural Sales Specialist, you will benefit from a rewarding commission-based structure that allows you to maximize your earnings, complemented by manufacturer cash incentives. To enhance your success, we provide an employee fleet vehicle or allowance, along with a company-issued cell phone and laptop.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  1. Promote and develop RME's product offerings and services within a designated trade area.
  2. Identify and engage new clients from an assigned territory or a list of prospects.
  3. Oversee all phases of the sales process, which includes:
  4. preparing proposals, quotes, and cost estimates.
  5. implementing and deploying equipment solutions.

Engage with customers in the agricultural sector to minimize expenses and enhance operational efficiencies by leveraging the latest technologies. Utilize solution-selling techniques across our equipment product lines and service offerings to present a comprehensive value proposition. Maintain a thorough understanding of the market dynamics within your trade area, including knowledge of competing products.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  1. Proven track record of increasing sales in an external sales role.
  2. Outstanding organizational, multitasking, and time management abilities.
  3. Strong interpersonal skills to cultivate relationships and broaden your professional network.
  4. Excellent communication skills with the ability to persuade and influence decisions.
  5. Effective management of your sales territory.
  6. Consistent and effective use of RME's business systems for client documentation and activity tracking.
  7. Participation in internal and external sales training programs and industry events for ongoing professional growth.
  8. Experience in the agriculture sector is advantageous but not mandatory.
