Our new greenhouse facility in Delta, BC is currently looking for a Greenhouse Crop Manager to join our dedicated team. This pivotal role involves establishing policies and procedures for the cultivation department while overseeing daily operations across multiple cultivation facilities. You will lead a cultivation team, ensuring that goals are met and customer demands are satisfied.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide expert supervision to greenhouse staff regarding the proper maintenance and care of all berry crops cultivated by Mastronardi. Assist in the formulation and execution of innovative production strategies. Ensure compliance with all company, client, and project policies, procedures, standards, and food safety regulations. Oversee daily crop care activities to optimize production and ensure adherence to proper techniques and task sequences that benefit crop growth. Collaborate with the Operations Manager to forecast production needs. Follow established cultivation methods and work closely with the cultivation department to enhance processes and supervise all post-harvest operations. Maintain cleanliness and organization in post-harvest work areas in accordance with the company's standard operating procedures while motivating the cultivation team to achieve performance targets. Manage pest control measures utilizing Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and environmental control techniques. Collaborate with the Compliance Officer to implement the Track and Trace program. Ensure adherence to Work Safe Practices. Schedule all production duties across various growth stages and aspects.

Education and Experience Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree is preferred. A minimum of three years of experience in a related agricultural field is required.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to effectively supervise a team. Innovative mindset with strong analytical skills, results-oriented approach, composure under pressure, attention to detail, and perseverance. Independent and capable of driving other functions to achieve business goals. Proficient technical skills and knowledge in packaging technology and applications. Ability to prioritize tasks considering both short-term and long-term business needs.

Working Environment:

Operate in a greenhouse environment, where temperatures average 70°F and background noise levels reach approximately 70 dB. Flexibility to adapt to changes as required. Travel may be necessary between various greenhouse locations.

Compensation: $22/hr-$25/hr CAD
