About the Role

Fermar Paving Limited is a leading general contractor in the GTA, delivering high-quality infrastructure projects for private and public clients. As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in the company's success by preparing competitive bids and estimates for projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate the preparation of bids and estimates for projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze bid specifications and drawings to identify potential issues and risks.
  • Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and deadlines to meet project requirements.
Requirements
  • Engineering degree or college diploma in a related field (Civil Engineering Technician or Business Administration).
  • 3-5 years of experience in estimating or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of estimating software (B2W - Bid to Win) and construction industry practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work independently and make decisions with occasional consultation or direction.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

Working Conditions

This role requires frequent travel within the GTA, with occasional site visits and meetings with clients and stakeholders. The physical environment is low to moderate intensity, with 75% office environment and 25% construction site visits.
