About the Role
The Home Support Worker (HSW) is a vital member of our team, reporting to the Assisted Living Clinical Manager. This role involves providing holistic and quality care to our residents, adhering to established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement personalized care plans for residents.
- Assist with daily living activities, including medication management, bathing, grooming, and meal support.
- Respond to call bell alarms and monitor residents' progress, reporting significant observations.
- Encourage residents to participate in social, physical, and recreational activities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of community policies and procedures, including emergency protocols.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Graduate from a recognized Care Aide Program.
- Active registration with the British Columbia Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.
- Valid First Aid Level 1 certification and current CPR.
- Medication Administration Certification required.
- Previous experience in a care community preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
- Pass the vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check.
- Good physical health and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
