Job Title: Senior Infrastructure Migration Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Migration Specialist to join our team at S.i. Systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for migrating DNS, decommissioning Solaris, and migrating BMC Remedy to BMC Helix.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Migrate existing in-house DNS services and data to a third-party application, ensuring minimal disruption to operational services.
  2. Transition Windows DNS services for a designated set of devices into the selected third-party application.
  3. Provide expert advice on the decommissioning process for existing Solaris servers and migration to Linux based servers.
  4. Assess and advise on the migration or retirement of custom Perl scripts currently running on Solaris servers.
  5. Migrate custom applications (that use ARS and Perl) currently running on the BMC Remedy platform to the BMC Helix.
  6. Offer in-depth analysis and advice on data transformation and migration strategies supporting the Remedy-to-Helix transition.
  7. Collaborate with BMC vendors to determine appropriate data mapping, transformation strategies, and development methodologies for the Ministry's existing BMC Forms.
  8. Thoroughly analyze existing DNS data to support planning activities, ensure data integrity, and optimize deployment sequences.
  9. Deliver comprehensive electronic and/or hard copies of all project-related materials, including technical and data architecture, migration plans, and any other documentation produced during the contract.
  10. Ensure all documentation is clear, detailed, and sufficient for ongoing maintenance and future reference.
  11. Provide expert advice and enhance the knowledge base of internal staff.

Requirements:

  1. 5+ years experience working with DNS and DHCP servers.
  2. 10+ years with Perl scripting.
  3. 10+ years with Solaris servers.
  4. Experience working with BMC Remedy, especially Action Request System (ARS) and/or Helix.
