Health & Safety Specialist

ROCKWOOL Group is seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Manager to contribute to our commitment to safety excellence at our Grand Forks facility. As part of a global leader in stone wool solutions, you will play a vital role in fostering a culture of safety and well-being for all employees.

Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, you will collaborate closely with managers and supervisors to ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Health & Safety management system.
  • Conduct thorough safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
  • Effectively manage work-related claims and conduct impartial incident investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Co-chair the site Joint Health & Safety Committee, fostering open communication and collaboration between management and employees.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on key Health and Safety performance indicators, providing insights into trends and areas requiring attention.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Occupational Health & Safety or Environmental Science.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in Health and Safety within a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Federal, Provincial, and local health and safety regulations.
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels.
