Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations, selections, negotiations, and pricing for assigned policies to maintain a profitable portfolio within designated underwriting authorities.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry of policy information to facilitate seamless transactions.
- Review and analyze endorsements, renewals, reissues, and cancellations in alignment with corporate standards and guidelines.
- Assess new business opportunities for profitability, with guidance from senior underwriters, by evaluating exposures and hazards, including necessary loss prevention measures.
- Build and sustain professional relationships with brokers and customers to enhance market understanding and contribute to quality service, problem-solving, and risk selection, all within company service standards.
- Stay informed about industry trends, developments, and regulatory changes, including competitive analysis and market conditions.
- Engage in the communication and education of brokers regarding corporate underwriting philosophies, policies, and procedures as necessary.
- Consistently implement best practices in compliance, internal control, and operational risk management.
- Monitor trends and developments related to loss ratios, risk trends, or other discrepancies.
- Possess or actively pursue completion of courses towards the CIP and CRM designations.
- Demonstrate a minimum of 3-5 years of fleet underwriting experience in long-haul trucking.
- Exhibit a solid understanding of underwriting techniques, guidelines, rating programs, risk information sources, coverages, and computer workflow procedures.
- Possess strong computer skills, including proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
