About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Developer 2 to join our team at Arc'teryx Limited. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for developing unique and resolved solutions that align with our design philosophies and product ideals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to product design by developing unique and resolved solutions through sketching, patterning, and concept prototyping.
  • Collaborate with designers, pattern makers, and product developers to create, document, and communicate new concepts, construction processes, techniques, and manufacturing solutions.
  • Build partial or complete concept prototypes to allow solutions to be tested, reviewed, and validated.
  • Collaborate with pattern makers and product developers on seasonal projects as required.
  • Influence and contribute to developing design standards to ensure consistency across all styles within the line plan.
  • Test various materials to assess suitability for various construction techniques and end uses, providing recommendations on final selection.
  • Support in the creation of field and wear test samples by providing direction and requests to the cutting team.
  • Assist the sample and design teams in responding to problems as they arise.
  • Support the onboarding and training of new hires and team members.
  • Develop new construction techniques and collaborate on trim innovations.
Requirements
  • 3+ years' experience working in a technical design environment.
  • Diploma or degree in fashion design or equivalent experience.
  • Strong sewing, building, and pattern making skills.
  • Technically proficient using CLO3D, Adobe Illustrator, and CAD experience within Gerber or equivalent pattern software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Illustrator, able to pick up new computer applications quickly.
  • Remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity.
  • Inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement, seeking minimal and integrated design solutions.
  • A strong knowledge of Arc'teryx products and interest/experience in key pieces that are part of the city wardrobe.
