Community Recreation Manager
The Community Recreation Manager plays a vital role in overseeing a diverse range of recreational services within the municipal facilities. This position involves supervising a team that includes Recreation Programmers, Program Assistants, and Recreation Leaders dedicated to enhancing community engagement through recreational activities.
The Manager will be responsible for fostering partnerships, collaborating with sports and recreation organizations, local businesses, and community members to curate a variety of recreational programs. The aim is to optimize the use of recreational facilities, community centers, educational institutions, parks, and other public spaces.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Completion of Grade 12 or an equivalent Mature High School Diploma;
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience in management roles, encompassing human resources, financial oversight, and organizational leadership. This includes expertise in project planning, budget management, scheduling, contract oversight, grant writing, and personnel supervision;
- At least four (4) years of experience in recreation or a related field;
- Ability to conceptualize and articulate a vision for the organization and effectively communicate it to various stakeholders;
- A commitment to ongoing professional development.
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant discipline is preferred;
- At least five (5) years of experience within municipal government is advantageous;
- Familiarity with collective agreements or corporate policies is a plus;
- Leadership training focusing on communication, teamwork, and management skills is desirable.
