Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere in the store for both customers and colleagues.
- Provide personalized service at the checkout, ensuring a memorable experience for every client.
- Efficiently handle register transactions, including sales, returns, and exchanges.
- Ensure precise pricing and ringing of merchandise, utilizing overrides when necessary to guarantee accuracy.
- Manage customer expectations by clearly communicating product details, care instructions, and delivery timelines.
- Confirm purchases and suggest additional items that enhance the customer’s selections.
- Inform clients of ongoing promotions that may influence their purchasing decisions.
- Share insights and stories about products, in-store events, and workshops to elevate the customer experience.
- Maintain the cash wrap area’s visual standards and ensure supplies are well-stocked.
- Utilize all available resources to fulfill customer requests and resolve any issues that arise.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management, adhering to all company policies and procedures.
- Foster a respectful and equitable environment for all associates, in line with our People-First Philosophy.
Qualifications
- Proven track record of closing sales and exceeding performance targets.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and think creatively.
- Passionate about building lasting relationships with customers and promoting Pottery Barn’s offerings.
- Skilled in asking insightful questions to understand customer preferences and needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team while also managing individual responsibilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in a customer-facing role.
- Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Capacity to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.
- Proficient in operating a POS system.
- Capable of lifting and moving medium to large items, up to 75 lbs., using appropriate equipment and safety measures.
- Full-time associates should have flexible availability to meet business needs.
- Part-Time Flex associates must be available for a minimum of two shifts on weekends and two during the week, with greater availability preferred for those scheduled for 20 hours or more weekly.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain active on the sales floor for extended periods.
- Proficient in operating a POS system.
- Ability to lift and move medium to large items, up to 75 pounds, using proper techniques.

Benefits
This position offers a competitive compensation package, which includes pay and benefits based on various factors such as education, experience, and location. The anticipated pay range for this role is $18.80 per hour.
