Domaine is seeking a Technical Lead responsible for overseeing the successful delivery and execution of all technical elements of custom eCommerce websites built on Shopify. This role involves direct interaction with clients to comprehend their business requirements and offer technical solutions. The Technical Lead will also work in conjunction with various departments and technology partners. They will guide the engineering project team through implementation, including code reviews, frontend architecture design, third-party integrations, and release management. The ideal candidate should possess several years of experience in leading Shopify project development, have a solid understanding of Shopify best practices, and be adept at utilizing the latest technologies to foster technical trust with clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Own the frontend feature development while ensuring both completion and quality.
- Demonstrate expert knowledge and experience with the Shopify eCommerce platform.
- Work independently and collaboratively to maintain a high standard of quality.
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively articulate issues to clients, developers, and product managers.
- Maintain a keen attention to detail to identify issues within acceptance criteria, edge cases, and other potential problems.
- Make high-level decisions balancing code quality, issues, and timely code releases.
- Plan and delegate tasks to other engineering team members as necessary.
- Anticipate risks and propose solutions.
- Translate complex requests into actionable solutions and tasks.
- Collaborate closely with clients to understand their business needs, use cases, and product roadmap to make informed decisions.
- Strong understanding of Shopify development, including: Themes, APIs, Apps, Functions, Extensions.
- Experience with JIRA/Confluence or other project management tools.
- 3-5 years of experience in the eCommerce sector.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; experienced in producing technical documentation and presenting to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Outstanding organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of web performance, accessibility, data querying, API request handling, component structure, and design systems.
- Deep understanding of user behaviors and marketing principles in eCommerce.
- Thorough grasp of software development lifecycle and methodologies.
- Expertise in software documentation and technical writing.
- Validate project estimates and approaches for all assigned work.
- Mentor and lead engineers within the project team.
- Exhibit a high level of personal productivity.
- Ability to manage commitments across multiple projects.
