Reporting to the Associate Vice-President, Financial Resources, the Financial Operations Director plans, directs, organizes, and monitors financial, accounting, and accountability operations for research, trust, and endowment funds across the University.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership in designing and implementing policies and procedures for financial operations
  • Offers professional assistance to researchers and decentralized administrators in faculties and services
  • Ensures service excellence in preparing and sending financial reports for research, trust, and endowment funds
  • Plans and leads financial, accounting, and accountability operations related to research, trust, and endowment activities
  • Recommends innovative solutions to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with funding agency requirements

Requirements:

  • 10 years' experience in the education sector or a large business, including at least 6 years in a financial management position
  • Experience in managing human resources and leading a team
  • Experience in short-, medium-, and long-term strategic planning
  • Experience in using major financial software and computer programs
  • Organizational skills, including time management and meeting deadlines
