Laboratory Assistant

Job Summary

Dynacare is seeking a skilled and compassionate Laboratory Assistant to join our team. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of laboratory testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Process blood samples and other laboratory specimens in a timely and accurate manner
• Enter requisitions and results into our system, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients, responding to their needs and concerns with empathy and kindness
• Work collaboratively with our laboratory team to ensure the smooth operation of our laboratory services
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards

Requirements

• Secondary School diploma and completion of a Laboratory Assistant training program or Medical Lab Assistance course with specialized training in phlebotomy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues, and management
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
