Community Relations Communications Specialist and Advisor

The Métis Nation of Ontario is seeking a highly skilled Community Relations Communications Specialist & Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our Community Relations team, you will play a critical role in supporting our 30 Chartered Community Councils and three Advisory Councils in their governance, engagement, and issue management efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective communications strategies to engage with Métis citizens and promote the work of our Community Relations team.
- Design and create professional communications materials, including graphics, presentations, and website content.
- Support the Community Relations team in their efforts to provide training and capacity-building programs for our Community Councils.
- Collaborate with senior staff to develop and implement strategic initiatives that advance the interests of our Community Councils and the Métis Nation of Ontario.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to our Community Councils, responding to their inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Minimum three to five years of experience in a related role, preferably in a government or non-profit organization.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective communications strategies and creating high-quality communications materials.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and customer service.
