Job Summary:

Sunripe - Hyde Park is seeking a highly motivated and organized Produce Specialist to join our passionate produce department team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality produce is available to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Produce Preparation: Grading and filling the produce wet wall and vegetable tables in the mornings prior to store opening.
  2. Merchandising and Display: Assisting in cutting, packaging and stocking vegetables and salads, as well as creating and maintaining visually appealing product displays.
  3. Customer Service: Providing courteous, friendly and efficient customer service to our customers.
  4. Inventory Management: Ensuring proper storage and organization of inventory, including unloading deliveries and checking for accuracy and freshness.
  5. Team Support: Assisting cashiers by running cash registers when required, maintaining impeccable cleanliness of retail and back room space, and assisting in training new team members.
  6. Regulatory Compliance: Following and ensuring government regulations, company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Produce Experience: Produce experience is considered an asset but not required.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organization skills.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy loads.
  • Availability: Flexible availability from 4:30 am until 9:00 pm, seven days a week. Typical shift is 5:00 am - 1:00 pm.
  • Knife Skills: Good knife skills.
  • Creativity: Creativity is an asset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.20 per hour
