The City of Port Alberni is seeking a highly skilled Deputy Director of Corporate Services to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our Corporate Services Department, you will provide administrative and organizational support to our Council, committees, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in preparing Council and committee agendas and minutes
- Attend meetings and provide administrative support
- Draft bylaws, policies, reports, and other legal documents
- Assist with elections and referendums
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Corporate Services
- An undergraduate degree in Public Administration or a related field, plus a minimum of three years' related experience
- Considerable knowledge of parliamentary procedures, the Community Charter, the Local Government Act, the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, and LGMA Records Management practices
- Considerable experience with and proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment requiring collaboration, commitment, and creativity
- Demonstrated superior oral and written communication skills, as well as exemplary problem-solving, organizational, and time management abilities
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships
- An exempt position with a salary range of $105,479 - $121,030
