Job Summary:

The General Foreman/Woman will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our construction sites, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of carpenters, apprentices, trades helpers, labourers, and staff in various areas of responsibility.
  • Prepare production and other reports to track project progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Estimate costs and materials, and ensure that all necessary equipment is set up and functioning properly.
  • Requisition materials and supplies, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
  • Ensure that all health and safety regulations are followed, and that the work site is a safe and healthy environment for all employees.
  • Recommend personnel actions, and establish methods to meet work schedules.
  • Read blueprints and drawings to understand project requirements and ensure that all work is completed to specification.
Requirements:
  • 5 years or more of experience in a supervisory role in the construction industry.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, suppliers, and clients.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure, and to make sound judgments in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions:
  • Work will be performed outdoors, in a noisy environment.
  • Overtime may be required, and the ability to work flexible hours is essential.
Language:

English is the primary language of communication in this role.

Work Schedule:

40 hours per week, with occasional overtime required.
