Job Title: On-Call SENCOTEN Teacher

Join our team of dedicated educators as an On-Call SENCOTEN Teacher with School District #63 (Saanich). We are seeking a qualified and passionate individual to support our students in their academic and personal growth.

About the Role

This is an on-call position, requiring flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of our students and schools. As an On-Call SENCOTEN Teacher, you will be responsible for providing language instruction and support to students in a variety of settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality language instruction and support to students in SENCOTEN
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and activities to promote language development and fluency
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to support student learning and achievement
  • Build relationships with students, parents, and community members to promote cultural awareness and understanding
  • Stay up-to-date with curriculum developments and best practices in language instruction
Qualifications
  • Valid BC Teaching Certificate or First Nations Language Teaching Certificate
  • Demonstrated language proficiency in SENCOTEN
  • Language teacher training an asset
  • Knowledge of local Saanich Indigenous communities
  • Significant leadership experience, preferably in relation to developing and enhancing Indigenous communities and cultural awareness
