Key Responsibilities- Vehicle Operations
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
- Perform preventive maintenance and emergency roadside repairs
- Customer Service
- Address customers' complaints or concerns
- Provide professional service to customers and ensure their needs are met
- Logistics and Administration
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch
- Safety and Security
- Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
- Education and Experience
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in heavy haulage operations
- Certifications and Licenses
- Class 3/3F/DF Licence (trailer truck, vehicles with more than 3 axles)
- Work Environment
- 40 hours per week
- Permanent position
- Green job (involves duties and responsibilities that lead to positive environmental outcomes)
The primary language of work is English. The work environment is a fast-paced and dynamic setting that requires strong communication and teamwork skills.
