Job Summary

Nassa Excavating Ltd. is seeking a skilled Dump Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our heavy haulage operations, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials across various routes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Operations
    • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
    • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
    • Perform preventive maintenance and emergency roadside repairs
  • Customer Service
    • Address customers' complaints or concerns
    • Provide professional service to customers and ensure their needs are met
  • Logistics and Administration
    • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
    • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Safety and Security
    • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
    • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in heavy haulage operations
  • Certifications and Licenses
    • Class 3/3F/DF Licence (trailer truck, vehicles with more than 3 axles)
  • Work Environment
    • 40 hours per week
    • Permanent position
    • Green job (involves duties and responsibilities that lead to positive environmental outcomes)

The primary language of work is English. The work environment is a fast-paced and dynamic setting that requires strong communication and teamwork skills.
