As a pivotal member of the Asset Reliability Group (ARG) at Maple Leaf Foods, the Asset Reliability Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing manufacturing reliability and operational maturity across our facilities. Reporting to the Leader of Asset Management & Reliability, this position involves collaboration with various teams to develop and implement robust Asset Management & Reliability programs aimed at achieving excellence in operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Program Implementation: Assist in the deployment and upkeep of corporate asset management and reliability initiatives throughout the organization.
- Project Monitoring: Track strategic asset reliability projects, offering insights and updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside diverse teams to formulate and enhance asset management strategies for both critical and non-critical assets.
- Data Analysis: Examine asset performance metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for enhancement.
- Reliability Initiatives: Engage in projects aimed at improving asset reliability and minimizing mechanical and electrical downtime.
- Training Development: Contribute to the creation of training materials and documentation for maintenance onboarding processes.
- Best Practices Application: Support the application of industry best practices in asset management and reliability engineering.
- Annual Planning: Assist in executing the ARG’s annual strategy, long-term roadmap, targets, and priorities.
- Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on asset performance, reliability metrics, and project advancements for management evaluation.
- Benchmarking: Participate in benchmarking exercises to assess asset performance against industry standards, identifying areas for improvement.
- Trend Monitoring: Stay informed about emerging trends and innovations in reliability engineering and asset management.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other related maintenance and reliability tasks as required.
- Degree in a technical, engineering, or STEM discipline is essential.
- 3-5 years of experience in asset reliability, maintenance, or operational excellence within fast-paced manufacturing or industrial settings is preferred.
- Understanding of maintenance and reliability principles and methodologies.
- Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance best practices.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), particularly SAP.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to evaluate asset reliability and performance, diagnosing and resolving issues effectively.
- A collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to develop asset management strategies.
- Capability to prepare and present detailed reports on asset performance and project status to management and stakeholders.
- Service-oriented mindset with a focus on fostering positive relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio.
- Professional Engineering Association Membership (P.Eng.), Six Sigma training, and/or an MBA or equivalent qualifications are advantageous.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, and health & safety regulations is beneficial.
- Familiarity with reporting and analytical tools such as Power BI is considered an asset.
