About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a member of our Diagnostic Imaging Department, you will be responsible for performing routine and specialized ultrasound procedures, ensuring proper application of ultrasound techniques and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform patient care and technical activities related to ultrasound procedures
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment
  • Develop and implement ultrasound protocols and procedures
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound
  • Sonography Canada certification
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Comprehension of technical language and ability to review manuals and participate in discussions
  • Previous experience an asset
  • Registration with multiple ultrasound credentials an asset
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $39.96 and a casual relief position with shift work required.
