Responsibilities:

The Electric Motor Systems Technician will be responsible for a variety of tasks including:

  • Evaluating and monitoring the electrical and mechanical conditions of various equipment.
  • Diagnosing and rectifying issues with electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators, and other electro-mechanical systems.
  • Utilizing machining tools for the fabrication or refurbishment of components.
  • Replacing or refurbishing critical parts such as shafts, bearings, and commutators.
  • Welding or brazing components as necessary.
  • Providing guidance and instruction to apprentices in the field.
  • Winding, assembling, and installing different types of coils.
  • Conducting static or dynamic balancing of armatures or rotors.
  • Performing machining tasks to restore or modify components.
  • Executing on-site maintenance and repair services.
  • Testing repaired equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Experience and Specialization:

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

  • Ability to handle physically demanding tasks.

  • Demonstrated manual dexterity.

Tools and Equipment:

  • Personal tools are required.
