Job Title: Automation Engineer II

Powell Canada Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer II to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative automation solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement automation solutions using various technologies, including PLCs, SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols.
  • Design and configure electrical systems, including switchgear and power distribution systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions with existing systems.
  • Perform testing, commissioning, and maintenance of automation systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and maintenance records.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in automation engineering, with a focus on electrical systems and power distribution.
  • Expertise in PLC programming, SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
Working Conditions:
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work in a variety of environments, including industrial settings and outdoor locations.
