Reclamation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Reclamation Engineer to join our team at Newmont Inc. in Timmins, ON. As a key member of our environmental team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and responsible closure of our mining operations.
Key Responsibilities- Support compliance with filed Closure Plans and ensure that all closure activities are carried out in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Work with the Project Supervisor to develop and implement closure strategies, including rehabilitation of legacy mine properties and management of closure plans.
- Provide technical support and guidance to mine site personnel, including emergency spill response and tailings dam safety management.
- Assist in establishing a sustainability program to support community acceptance and future land use objectives.
- Manage annual closure budget and work with contractors and consultants to ensure effective implementation of rehabilitation projects.
- 2 years of experience in the mining industry or related field, with comprehensive exposure to mine closure rehabilitation, permitting, and compliance issues.
- Exposure to geotechnical engineering and ability to take a practical approach to environmental management.
- Demonstrate ability to lead and maintain positive working relationships and interact with internal staff and external agencies and consultants.
- Ability to manage a wide variety of projects and timelines to meet tight time restraints.
- B.Sc. in Geotechnical/Environmental Engineering or other related Engineering field. Licensed or registered as Engineer in Training with Professional Engineers Ontario.
This is a site-based position located in Timmins, ON. The schedule is 4 days on, 3 days off.
