Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Device Technician to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our Sterile Supply Processing department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient processing of medical devices and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, sort, and process medical devices and equipment, including cleaning, decontaminating, and sterilizing
  • Operate departmental equipment, such as automated washers, cart washer, pasteurizer, ultrasonic washer, clean dryer, heat sealer, and sterilizers
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and report any malfunctions
  • Issue and deliver supplies as requested
  • Maintain inventory levels and rotate stock according to established procedures
  • Participate in the Department's Quality Assurance Program
  • Perform clerical duties, such as recording workload statistics and maintaining records
Requirements
  • Grade 12, plus successful completion of a recognized Sterile Supply Processing program
  • One year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to deal effectively with others
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
  • Ability to operate related equipment
  • Knowledge of surgical and medical terminology
  • Mathematical aptitude
  • Ability to organize work
