We are seeking a skilled Upholstery Specialist to join our team at Skyline Furniture. As an Upholstery Specialist, you will be responsible for restoring and reupholstering furniture to its former glory.
Key Responsibilities- Replace worn-out webbing, springs, and other furniture parts
- Lay out, cut, fabricate, and install upholstery
- Tack, glue, or sew ornamental trim, braids, or buttons
- Repair furniture frames and refinish wood surfaces
- Operate sewing machines or sew by hand
- Garnish the bottom and the back of a seat with interoven rattan
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
- Ability to work with a variety of materials and tools
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Permanent employment
- 35 to 40 hours per week
- English language
- Public transportation available
- Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees
- Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth
- Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers
