Horticultural Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Horticultural Therapist to join our team at Schlegel Villages. As a Horticultural Therapist, you will play a vital role in delivering holistic care to our residents, focusing on flexible living and quality of life.

• Plan and implement gardening-based activities, including hands-on experiences for residents, such as planting seeds and caring for plants indoors and outdoors.
• Work collaboratively with the Recreation Team to support residents in learning, growing, finding life purpose, and meaning.
• Develop and implement programs that contribute to residents' holistic health care goals, as outlined in Care Plans.
• Provide a caring and respectful attitude toward residents, families, and team members.

• Enrolled in or completed a Degree in Horticulture Therapy or equivalent.
• Completed the required 480 hours of internship.
• Eligible member of the Canadian Horticulture Therapy Association.
• Previous experience working with seniors is an asset.
• Knowledge of therapy practices, methods, techniques, and opportunities to improve residents' well-being and holistic health.
