Position Overview
The Solution Architect plays a crucial role in shaping and articulating a cohesive technical and architectural vision across a Solution / Release Train, aligning with the overarching Informatics technology strategy and principles. This ensures that the system or solution being developed meets its intended objectives effectively.
This role involves collaboration with product managers, product line leaders, and business stakeholders to facilitate the design and development of a comprehensive view of business processes and the related business environment. The aim is to identify both current and future opportunities for optimization, integration, and knowledge sharing.
The Solution Architect will work closely with enterprise architects and fellow solution architects to realize the domain vision, promoting platform thinking, reusability, and interoperability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic consultation to assigned line-of-business (LOB) clients in defining or designing business processes, functions, and organizational structures, while leveraging customer requirements to research and identify enabling technologies.
- Evaluate the current state of solutions, define future state requirements, identify gaps, and recommend new technology solutions along with strategic business execution enhancements.
- Facilitate stakeholder sessions across various disciplines within the organization to gather and define requirements, assess business processes, and evaluate technology solutions.
- Conduct research on solution architecture, including Proofs of Concept (PoCs), Proofs of Value (PoVs), feasibility assessments, and facilitate the selection of solution applications.
- Develop business and logical data architectures that encompass software, network, hardware, and integration designs.
- Engage in business process engineering, re-engineering efforts, and conduct impact assessments with mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate closely with Enterprise Architects to define long-term architectural vision and integration patterns, while reviewing the technical portfolio.
- Create and maintain comprehensive Solution Architecture documentation.
- Develop IT Strategy & Roadmap aligned with the strategic needs of the business division.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems analysis, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7-10 years of professional IT experience, demonstrating strategic thinking and the ability to translate plans into operational excellence.
- In-depth expertise and business knowledge in the Pharma/Biotech/Dia/information industry and its associated processes.
- Experience with major applications such as Salesforce platforms or other CRM software packages.
- Hands-on experience with CRM projects for Life Sciences or Biotech companies.
- Proficiency in building solutions using VisualForce, APEX, Lightning Web Components, Web Services, and APIs.
- Experience with core web technologies including HTML5, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Strong leadership skills and experience in managing large teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
