Field Technician

ERM is seeking a skilled Field Technician to join our team in Lac La Biche, Alberta. As a Field Technician, you will play a crucial role in conducting archaeological field surveys and providing support to our heritage studies.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pedestrian surveys and shovel testing of landforms identified as having high archaeological potential and record archaeological sites.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate Health, Safety, and Environment policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to travel via off-road vehicles and walking long distances in all types of weather and terrain, observing, and identifying biophysical and heritage features, using a GPS, and taking notes and photographs.
  • Valid driver's license and previous experience undertaking or assisting in environmental field studies are considered assets.
  • Candidates must have an interest in the Environmental sector and reliable transportation from home location to and from Lac La Biche to meet for field surveys.
  • Environmental or Archaeological/Anthropological degree completed or in progress, valid First Aid, and other industry training certificates are also considered assets.
  • CSA-approved steel-toed boots are required for field work. Other survey and personal protective equipment will be provided by ERM.
  • Ability to work 10-hour days, 60-hour week.
