Job Title: Plumber Helper

Macleod's Plumbing & Heating Inc. is seeking a skilled Plumber Helper to join our team. As a Plumber Helper, you will assist our plumbers in performing various tasks related to plumbing, water supply, and waste management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist plumbers in performing pre-operational inspections and reading blueprints to determine work requirements.
  • Clean and pile salvaged materials, and perform routine maintenance work.
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites, and direct traffic at or near construction sites.
  • Transport materials and tools to and from work areas, and operate various equipment to load, unload, and move materials and products.
  • Handle, sort, and move drill pipes, tools, cement, and other materials, and assist in routine maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Load, unload, and move products and materials by hand or with basic material handling equipment, and oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of real estate infrastructures.
  • Assist in the design of moulds, tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures, and clean and maintain pipe units and fittings, and flush systems.
  • Install clamps, brackets, and hangers to support piping systems and sprinkler and fire protection equipment, using hand and power tools.
  • Join pipes and piping sections using soldering and welding equipment, and read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems.
  • Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings, and support the mining advancement by extending and installing air and water pipes or operating ore loading machinery.
  • Repair domestic, commercial, or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems, and maintain and repair water well pumps, piping systems, and equipment.
  • Install domestic, commercial, or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems, and assist other processing workers in the maintenance and repair of various pulp and paper machines and equipment.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, and with tight deadlines.
  • Manual dexterity, attention to detail, and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to handle heavy loads, work at heights, and in confined spaces.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly.
